About Me

My name is Morgan Ford.  I married the “boy next door,” Doug (super cheesy, I know).   Someone who has shown me how happy happiness can be.  Someone who is not only a good husband, but a wonderful father.  We married just over two years ago and now, together, we are raising our eight month old son, Auburn.  I am an RN at St. Mary’s and have a passion for motherhood, animals, and home decor ❤

  1. I absolutely love the beams in your home. Did you place them there as an athletic or are they original.
We are moving into a rural property that lacks any farmhouse features and I’m hoping to inject some myself!
Any tips or info on your beams will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    1. Hi! Thank you so much for the compliment! My husband will love to hear that 🙂 Actually he copied the look of beams he saw and loved in a pavilion we were married at. They do serve a purpose. They actually help support the roof with the specific pattern he created 🙂

  2. What colour(s) of white did you use for the walls and trim throughout your home? Everything piece of furniture and art pops off of them beautifully and it seems to be the perfect shade of white!
    Thank you!!

    1. In the blog the house photos are my old color Revere Pewter. But if you are referring to my IG photos it is now Alabaster walls 🙌🏻. Trim is called high hiding white and is a trim paint because the hubby built our trim with 1x4s. We had to use a wood paint. Hope that helps!

  3. Hi, Just found your blog and love your house. Did you put your flooring in mudroom? If so could you please tell me the tile color and grout as well? We are looking to do exact same flooring in our laundry room. Thanks!!

    1. Oh friend that is so hard! We bought that tile from Lowes. I think it was slate or slate look a like. And grout color?? Oh boy there are a million colors. I picked a light color, but have no idea what 🙈🙈🙈. You can’t go wrong with a light grey to make the tiles pop 🙌🏻. Love this tile, good choice friend :). Now if only he would have let me lay it in a herringbone pattern!! He said that was too hard 🙄😜

  4. Thanks for such a quick response. I have six tiles as we speak on laundry room floor( I think it is same tile😀). My hubby came home and I had tile in herringbone pattern and he said love tile but not pattern. What??? I was going to try to convince him but I love your floor and the brick pattern! Thanks for sharing a tour of your home. May have to borrow some ideas 🙂
